Calf Prices Remain Firm
Dr. Curt Lacy (UGA)
Prices for 500-600 pound calves in Georgia and the Southeastern U.S. remained firm this week. The primary reasons were favorable news about projected corn supplies and prices as well as affirmation that cattle supplies and beef production will be lower in 2013.
For the remainder of the fall, cattlemen can expect some seasonal weakness, but barring a major event prices should not decline dramatically.
